AC721014 – Throttle Endplate

Description:

This endplate is the same as fitted to original Late Bay throttle kits under the floor close to the centre of the van. This is the plate the throttle cable attaches to. This is a stock plate with 1 single hole for the cable. The plate comes with a new nylock nut and a washer.

Notes:The first hole is stock location, the other holes allow a little adjustment which will give you a little more pull on your cable if needed.

AC721110 – Accelerator Linkage Through Shaft Kit and Bearing Carrier, Right Hand Drive

Description:

Replacement through shaft and bearing carrier. The shaft, endplates and spacer are made from stainless steel.

Shaft assembly comes delivered with the bearing carrier in place; remove your original shaft and endplates, slide the new complete shaft into the outer hole nearest the wheel arch, there should be just enough to swing in around and slide in, push in until the new bearing carrier pushes up against the hole, then line carrier up so you can drill the two 5mm holes, drill the holes then bolt up the bearing carrier with the shaft in place.

Then the other end of the shaft you can slide on the stainless steel spacer, bolt on the endplate with the spring hole towards the engine, making sure to line plate up with the two flats on the shaft, tighten Nyloc nut up then hook up the spring as in the image. Thats the new shaft fitted, if you find shaft doesn't rotate freely this can be because the area where the bearing plate is bolted is not square to the chassis, you can tweak this area with adjustable spanner, after 40 odd years of abuse those plates take a pounding.

This shaft can be fitted from the wheel arch end, originally VW fitted these before fitting the brake master cylinder, so to replace from the inside of the chassis you would need to drop the master cylinder. But with this there is no need to .

One of the tips I have been given is its easier to hook the accelerator cable to the endplate before bolting onto the shaft as there is not much room up in there.

The HS2000 heater is an automatic thermostatically controlled blown air heating system fuelled by propane, butane, or LPG gas. Heatsource is designed for a variety of automotive and marine applications as a source of heat totally independent of the engine.

Propex Heatsource blown air systems are used in many applications throughout the world; these include Motorhomes, Caravans, Boats, Cranes, Horseboxes, and Mobile Workshops etc.

The HS2000 is supplied as standard with a solid state electronic thermostat that automatically switches the unit on and off to maintain the desired temperature. When the room temperature drops below the selected level, the Heatsource will automatically ignite and run until the cabin reaches the selected temperature. The thermostat is an easy to fit surface mount design. Unlike some heaters, there is minimal electric current consumption during ignition so cycling the Heatsource on and off does not have the effect of additional battery drain.

With forced air combustion and the Propex two stage stainless steel heat exchanger, the HS2000 is a clean and highly efficient way to heat your vehicle. Air for combustion is taken from outside and passed into the combustion chamber having been mixed with gas during three aeration stages; it is ignited automatically and heats up the large surface area of the heat exchanger. The Heatsource unit is totally room sealed and exhaust all products of combustion externally through the neat 22mm i.d stainless steels flue pipe. To add to the efficiency, cabin air is normally re-circulated in preference to using cold air from outside. The HS series heaters are also very efficient on electrical current consumption, the high quality motor/fan combination and innovative current reducing electronics, both of which have been improved in the latest versions, means that even the larger HS2800 draws less than 2 amps during normal operation.

Propex heaters are designed to be quiet in operation without compromising air throughput and heat output. There will always be some air noise from a system that produces a healthy throughput of air, however, by using high quality balanced fans and smooth enclosed motors with ball race bearings; noise is kept to a minimum. Noise is also unaffected by high voltage, a common occurrence with battery charges, solar panels etc. permanently wired. The microprocessor electronics regulates the motor voltage so that the fan speed does not alter from 10 to 15 volts.

Heatsource blown air heaters conform to the latest European standards for both the appliance and the electronics and during the rigorous testing, the focus is very much on safety. The heaters also have to comply with an enhanced version of the Electro Mechanical Compatibility Directive to ensure they do not interfere with other electronics and that they are immune from interference by other electronics.
The intelligent electronics are continuously monitoring the operation of the heater to make sure everything is operating correctly and safely. This includes monitoring of the flame, case temperature, combustion airflow, gas solenoid valve, and voltage. Should any of these stray outside of the predetermined levels, the heater will be switched off and the red light on the thermostat will indicate a fault by flashing a certain number of times.

The HS2000 is supplied with complete fitting kits to suit vehicle applications. In vehicles and caravans the unit is usually mounted in a bed-box or cupboard, flued downwards through the floor and out to the side of the vehicle using flexible stainless ducting. These ducts (22mm i.d for the HS2000 and 26mm i.d for the HS2800) are supplied as standard in lengths of 750mm. The ends are finished with neat stainless steel end-caps that comply with EN624. The heat is ducted to one or more outlets through tough highly flexible 60mm or 76mm ducting. In the case of multi-outlet installations, the first outlet is an open outlet with directional control and the rest are closable and are used in conjunction with the appropriate sized plastic Y-branches.

Notes:

1) Decide whether you will mount Speaker Panels over or under existing or new carpet, then;

2) Pre-fit the Speaker Panel up against your kick panel area above the heater channel. Some trimming may be required simply by using sandpaper. We recommend putting insulation, carpet or some type of pad behind the speaker, up against the metal kick panel area of your car. This makes your system "sound" better.

3) Once you are satisfied with the fitting of the speaker panel and its ready to install, you can now insert your speakers:

First, cut out the hole using the template, or practice on cardboard. If you drill the hole too big, then you'll have to buy another set and start over again. It is best to cut out the hole with the jigsaw, smaller than the template shows, them use sandpaper to make your speaker fit perfectly.

Mount your speakers, tweeter, etc. into the Speaker Panel.

4) Now, drill 4 holes, one at each comer using a drill with 1/8" bit. Hold the panel exactly where you previously pre-fit, and drill thru the panel and the metal kick panel of your car. Then screw the 4 screws into both, with a screwdriver (or drill with phillips screwdriver bit). Note: Bonding or attaching the speaker panel to your kick panel area without screws, will not allow access to your speaker, if you ever need to get to it. Carpet over if you choose.
