VW changed the bottom mounting bracket for the window winding mechanism in August 1974. For pre August 1974 Beetles, you need to make a simple extension bracket, or change to the later type window lifter which is part number 111-837-502\/K You will also need to change the window guide channel to the 8\/72 onwards style, part number 111-837-418\/C Most doors have holes for the side trim but occasionally supply may be without holes. This is outside our control and it is not possible to specify with or without holes.

Although every care is taken to ensure panels arrive in perfect condition unfortunately there may be slight imperfections due to handling in transit and storage.
Always test fit before preparing and painting, some minor adjustments may be necessary.
Once test fitted, it should be stripped down to bare metal, then primed and painted, to protect it against corrosion.
