This can only be used where the webbing is free to retract on to the inertia. In our opinion it is not suitable for the rear of Beetles and Ghias. Bringing the webbing through between seat back and base is the problem. It could be fitted easily to the centre of 1\/3- 2\/3 bench seats in a bus. They could be fitted to the front of Beetles and Ghias where no shoulder mount exsists, but a 3 point belt would be safer.
