Notes:The temperature sender may interfere with some repro strainers – they can be drilled / clearanced. If being used on a Type 4 engine the pressed steel blanking plate to the rear of the engine can be drilled if the existing sump plug is not a compatible thread. The oil pressure sensor will require a short brake hose to allow it to fit remotely due to tinware clearance issues. VW Brakes hose are M10x1 which is the same thread size as oil pressure sensors.

Description:

Inlet manifold adapter kit to fit Air-cooled twin-carb kits onto 1.9 or 2.1 Waterboxer engines. CNC machined from 6mm Aluminium, these are profiled to match the large oval Waterboxer inlet port on one side to the round Aircooled manifold on the other side. Sold as a Pair including gaskets and studs.

Kit includes: 2 x Adapter plates, 2 x Gaskets to head, and 4 x Studs to replace the original Waterboxer manifold bolts. Remaining fitting hardware should all be included in your carburettor kit.

In most cases a Type3 carb kit will probably be the best suited to fit to Waterboxer engines to clear under the rear hatch. Type1 carbs with short air filters may also fit.

Cleaning instructions:
1, Apply cleaner spray liberally to the air filter and allow to soak for 10 minutes. Do not allow the cleaner to dry on the filter.
2, Rinse off air filter from the clean side in order to flush out the dirt from the filter.
3, Continue to rinse until all traces of the cleaner are gone. You may need to repeat steps 1 and 2 until clean.
4, Oil your filter. Apply K&N Oil evenly along each pleat of the filter. Allow oil to wick for approximately 20 minutes.
